If you’ve not biked much near Williamson Road in the past, you may be pleasantly surprised to find some nice neighborhood surface streets that make for great riding on this 11.4-mile route that visits eight parks, two recreation centers, and two athletic fields, beginning and ending at Preston Park. Other highlights were the sweet mountain views at Eastgate Park and one of the prettiest spots in Roanoke, Mason Mill Park. Here you will find a historic water wheel, a public fishing area, a dam, and the perfect place to picnic while watching the bubbling Tinker Creek.
