Parks and Recreation Advisory Board

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB) will advise the City’s professional staff and City Council as to issues concerning citizen participatory input and guidance; act as clearinghouse for citizen concerns and opinions; advise professional staff with regard to Master Plan and Comprehensive Plan implementation; assist the general public in understanding decisions and policies made by municipal leadership; provide advocacy for community Parks and Recreation related issues; and facilitate communication between citizens, departmental staff, municipal administrative staff and legislative branches of local government by means of written directives and board recommendations.

PRAB meets on the second Tuesday of each month in Room 308 of the Noel C. Taylor Municipal Building. For additional information, please contact the Administrative Office, at 540-853-2236.

Mill Mountain Advisory Board

The Mill Mountain Advisory Board (MMAB) will advise the City’s professional staff and City Council as to issues concerning maintaining the integrity of Mill Mountain with respect to aesthetics, recreation, and accessibility; act as clearinghouse for citizen concerns and opinions regarding Mill Mountain; assist the general public in understanding decisions and policies made by municipal leadership; provide advocacy for Mill Mountain related issues; and facilitate communication between citizens, departmental staff, municipal administrative staff and legislative branches of local government by means of written directives and board recommendations.

MMAB meets on the second Wednesday of each odd month in the Mill Mountain Discovery Center. For additional information, please contact the Administrative Office, at 540-853-2236.
