Tinker Creek is a major tributary of the Roanoke River, flowing from Botetourt through Hollins and Vinton on its way to Roanoke.  The main stretch of the Tinker Creek Greenway runs from the Roanoke River north to Wise Avenue at Fallon Park. A separate section, completed in 2024, runs from 13th Street SE north to Mason Mill Park and includes three trailheads for parking, a river access point, and ADA accessible fishing pier.  An additional, natural trail section of the Tinker Creek Greenway runs from Hollins to Carvins Cove, and further sections are in the works.
