Skate Sessions
(8-10 years old) Ready to roll? Join Play Roanoke for Skate Sessions and learn the fundamentals of skateboarding in a fun, supportive, and safe environment! This 6-week beginner program is designed for youth ages 8–10 who are new to skateboarding or looking to build confidence on their board.
Participants will learn essential skateboarding skills, including balance, pushing, stopping, turning, skate park etiquette, and introductory tricks. Our experienced instructors will focus on skill development, safety, and having fun at Roanoke’s brand-new skate park at Wasena Park.
Whether your child is stepping on a skateboard for the first time or looking to improve their basic skills, Skate Sessions is the perfect place to build confidence, make new friends, and discover a lifelong sport. Come learn, ride, and have fun at Roanoke’s newest skate destination.
Required Equipment: Skateboard, helmet, and closed-toe athletic shoes. Knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards are strongly recommended. Equipment can be provided upon request.
