Nature Lab: Public Lands
This special session of Nature Lab highlights the importance of Virginia’s public lands. This 5-week program introduces conservation concepts, explains how public lands are managed, and celebrates the unique natural spaces found throughout our state.
Ages 8-12Courses held on Wednesdays from 9-11 AMMeeting weekly from October 21 to November 18Based at the Mill Mountain Discovery Center$65/student for full 5-week seriesStudents will explore topics such as stewardship, recreation, conservation, and the role public lands play in our communities both past and present. Each week features hands-on learning and conversations about how these lands are cared for and used. Students will also hear from guest speakers who work directly with public lands and conservation efforts in Virginia, giving them the chance to learn from professionals and ask questions.
