Day Trip: Trader Joe’s Shopping and Lunch in Charlottesville
Time to stock your Holiday pantry! Bring your shopping bags, and we’ll provide the transportation to Trader Joe’s in Charlottesville, VA. Our comfortable shuttle bus will depart Roanoke at 9:30 AM. En route, we will be having lunch at the famous Virginian Restaurant – a Charlottesville tradition since 1923 and lauded as “one of the South’s most famous eateries”. Lunch will be at your own expense. After lunch, we will head to Trader Joe’s for about an hour or more of shopping for their unique grocery selections. *Please bring your own appropriately sized cooler or cooler bags for your perishable items.

9:30 AM Depart from Public Works
12:30 Arrive for Lunch: The Virginian Restaurant:
1:30 PM Arrive Trader Joes
2:30 PM Depart for Roanoke:
5:00 PM Arrive back in Roanoke
💲 Cost: $34 per person (Price includes: Round-trip parks and recreation transit van transportation and tour host.
Lunch will be at your own expense.
📍 Departure Details:
- Time: The van departs at 9:30 a.m. from the City of Roanoke Public Works Building (1802 Courtland Rd NE).
- Return: Estimated return time is 5:00 p.m.

The trip is based on a minimum number of paid participants by the registration date. Should we cancel the trip, a full refund will be given. If you cancel before the registration date, a full refund will be issued; after that date, there will be 50% service fee collected.
