DAY TRIP: Old City Cemetery/Point of Honor Tours + Lunch

Join us on May 16, 2026, as we drive the T+T van to Lynchburg, Virginia.

We will enjoy a docent-led tour of the Old City Cemetery & Arboretum- ranked by Trip Advisor as the #1 destination in Lynchburg, VA! Established in 1806 and listed on the National Register of Historical Places, the Old City Cemetery is Virginia’s oldest municipal cemetery still in use. The grounds are comprised of a 27-acre public garden that is home to at least 16 Revolutionary War Patriots, as well as hundreds of early founders of the City of Lynchburg. Old City Cemetery is the final resting place for the men and women who shaped America in its infancy. The Arboretum is classified as a Level II, with the largest collection of antique roses in Virginia. We will also tour of Point of Honor, a federal-style plantation home in Lynchburg where we will enjoy a docent-led tour of the home and its period furnishings. Between our tours, we will lunch at Truss Restaurant – a family-owned restaurant serving chef-curated New American cuisine in a warm, upscale-casual setting.

PRICE PER PERSON: $49.00. The full amount is due when the reservation is made. Lunch is at your own expense.

PRICE INCLUDES: Tour tickets for the Cemetery, Arboretum and Point Honor Estate, roundtrip parks and recreation transit van transportation, and a tour host. Lunch is at your own expense.

DEPARTURE TIME AND LOCATIONS: The van will depart at 11:00AM City of Roanoke Public Works Bldg. 1802 Courtland Rd, NE. Return time to Roanoke is around 5:30PM.

Cancellation Policy: This trip requires a minimum number of paid participants by the registration deadline. If the trip is canceled due to low enrollment, all participants will receive a full refund. If you cancel your reservation before the registration deadline, you will also receive a full refund. Cancellations made after the registration deadline will result in a 50% cancellation fee.
