You’re invited to celebrate J.B. Fishburn’s 161st Birthday! 
This is a free event at the Historic Fishburn Mansion on September 22 from 1:00-5:00 PM. All are welcome to join the Friends of Mountain View for this special birthday bash!

About J.B. Fishburn:
Junius Blair Fishburn (1865-1955) was a prominent publisher, banker, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Working at the National Exchange Bank, he rose through the ranks to serve as the bank’s President. J.B. Fishburn was the co-founder and president of Times-World Corporation, which published The Roanoke Times and the Roanoke World News.
An avid supporter of parks and recreation, he donated the land for six Roanoke Parks including Mill Mountain and Wasena Park. Upon his death in 1955, J.B. Fishburn left to the City of Roanoke his 42-room mansion, known as Mountain View.
