Blue Ridge Tunnel Hike

Grab your raincoat and headlamp to explore one of the most unique hikes in Virginia. The Blue Ridge Tunnel Trail features an almost mile-long tunnel that runs underneath Rockfish Gap between Nelson and Augusta County near Waynesboro.

Participants will be transported to the West trailhead and hike out and back for a total of 4.5 miles and finish off the afternoon by visiting a local restaurant for lunch before heading back to Roanoke. The tunnel does not have interior lighting and water drips steadily year round so be sure to bring a headlamp or flashlight and a rain jacket for this hike. Transportation and leadership is included (meal not included).
