The Park Management Section is responsible for the hardscape maintenance in City parks and greenways, which include amenity maintenance, construction projects, cleaning trash and debris, and community event support. The Section is divided into two units: Inspection and Development and Hardscape Maintenance.
The Inspection and Development crew consists of four full-time employees responsible for the inspection and repair of park and greenway amenities, playgrounds, basketball courts, and tennis courts. These amenities include Mutt-Mitt stations, bollards, picnic tables, trash cans, benches, grills, kiosks, signs, sign bases, basketball back boards and nets, tennis court nets and anchors for center straps, wind screens, wooden guardrail, split-rail fence, chain fence link and gates. This unit also provides community event support with tents, canopies, stages, chairs, tables, picnic tables and various other related support for special events, concerts, festivals, and regional events.
The Hardscape Maintenance crew is responsible for the cleaning of parks and rest-rooms, it consists of five full-time and six seasonal employees. This unit maintains the cleanliness with in all City parks and greenways by collecting trash and debris, cleaning all park shelters and restrooms, tennis and basketball court surfaces, and parking lots. Staff prepare picnic shelters for rentals, refill mutt-mitt stations, pressure wash shelters, courts, and restrooms, clean playgrounds, remove graffiti, paint tables, and assist with events and construction projects.
Both Park Management crews assist with numerous other tasks as needed and are a part of the team of snowfighters that are responsible for snow and ice removal on the south side of the City.
