Celebrate National Teddy Bear Picnic Day! Grab your favorite stuffed friend and head to Mill Mountain. Enjoy your own packed lunch and a special treat surrounded by human and teddy bear friends alike. After lunch, learn all about black bears through story and craft time. Switchback on Buck at Carvins Cove

(18+, 14+ with an adult) You’ve ridden the easy stuff but don’t know where to start when the trails change from green circle to blue square and the turns get tighter. Check out this clinic for the low down on how to ride trail with tight turns called switchbacks. Participants must have a bike, helmet, and should have experience riding a mountain bike on trails. The program fee includes instruction only.

Roanoke Mountain Bike and Hike Trails

Explore your environment and your body by hiking and practicing yoga. This month we will be hiking at Mill Mountain, hiking just over 2.15 miles from the Discovery Center using the Ridgeline, Monument, and Star Trails . Classes will be offered monthly from May through September. No prior yoga experience needed. Remember to bring a mat and water!
