Residents can attend in-person at the Melrose Branch Library Community Room (2502 Melrose Ave NW, Suite D, Roanoke, VA 24017) or watch via livestream of the meeting, available on the PLAY Roanoke Facebook page, courtesy of RVTV-3. Residents are invited to view the updated plans, hear from the design team, and ask questions regarding the project prior to the start of construction. Additional details on the project, timelines, and previous meetings can be found at www.PlayRoanoke.com/Eureka-Redevelopment.
This meeting will also include a brainstorming session regarding McCadden Park. Residents will have the opportunity to view examples of potential park features and share feedback on what amenities they would like to see in the park. McCadden Park, which was named after late neighborhood leader Estelle McCadden in January 2023, is located in the Melrose-Rugby Neighborhood in Northwest Roanoke. The park boasts spacious fields, walking paths, scenic mountain views, and an ADA picnic shelter. This brainstorming session will be the first step in a master planning process for the park and all interested residents are encouraged to share their thoughts with Parks and Recreation. The brainstorming session will follow the Eureka Recreation Center updates at around 7:30 p.m.
