DESCRIPTION:Are you looking for a way to add meaningful laboratory instruction and experiential education activities to your science curriculum? Nature Lab is a six-week\, SOL-based science program for homeschool and virtual students taught by a fully licensed teacher in Mill Mountain Park. Nature Lab allows for hands-on\, minds-on weekly science exploration. \nAges 8-12\nCourses held on Wednesdays from 9-11 AM\nMeeting weekly from September 9 to October 14\n$75/student for full 6-week series \nStudents regularly pursue deeper understandings of scientific principles by carrying out investigations\, interpreting and analyzing scientific data\, playing thematic games\, making real-time observations in their journals or natural phenomenon\, comparing and contrasting the intricacies of abiotic and biotic ecosystem components while generally exploring the natural beauty in each season of Mill Mountain. DESCRIPTION:This special session of Nature Lab highlights the importance of Virginia’s public lands. This 5-week program introduces conservation concepts\, explains how public lands are managed\, and celebrates the unique natural spaces found throughout our state. \n🔹Ages 8-12\n🔹Courses held on Wednesdays from 9-11 AM\n🔹Meeting weekly from October 21 to November 18\n🔹Based at the Mill Mountain Discovery Center\n🔹$65/student for full 5-week series \nStudents will explore topics such as stewardship\, recreation\, conservation\, and the role public lands play in our communities both past and present. Each week features hands-on learning and conversations about how these lands are cared for and used.
