Keep on the Sunny Side at Barter Theater
Join us on Saturday, May 6, 2023, as we travel to the Barter Theatre, Abingdon, VA, to see the play Keep on the Sunny Side: The Songs & Story of the Original Carter Family.
Keep on the Sunny Side is Barter’s most requested show of all time! The love story that made country music famous – A.P., Maybelle and Sara Carter are brought to life in this telling look at the lives of the Carter Family and the historic Bristol Sessions recordings.
Prior to the play, we will stop for lunch (on your own) and visit some of Abingdon’s sights.

PRICE PER PERSON: $90. Full payment is required when reservation is made.
PRICE INCLUDES: Roundtrip transportation on Roanoke Parks and Rec bus/van, visit to Draper Mercantile, a stop at The Dutch Pantry, admission ticket to Keep on the Sunny Side, sightseeing in Abingdon and a tour host.
DEPARTURE TIMES AND LOCATIONS: The bus will depart at 7:00 a.m. from the Clearbrook Walmart, Roanoke; at 7:15 a.m. from Valley View Mall (overflow parking lot between Belk & 581) Roanoke; and at 7:30 a.m. from Food Lion, Exit 137, Salem, VA. Pickups available in Christiansburg and Dublin also. Return time is around 8:30 p.m.
CANCELLATION POLICY: The trip is based on a minimum amount of paid participants by April 6, 2023. If we should cancel the trip, a full refund will be given. If you cancel prior to April 6, a refund less $40 ticket penalty will be issued. After April 6, 2023, there will be no refunds.
