(18+, 10+ with a participating adult) Explore Peters Mountain and the Eastern Continental Divide on this 2 mile out-and-back hike to the Hanging Rock Raptor Observatory. From the fully enclosed observation tower, we’ll have 360 degree views into the West Virginia and Virginia valleys below. We’ll warm up after the hike by eating lunch at the Swinging Bridge Restaurant in Paint Bank, VA. Program fee includes transportation and leadership.
Parent or guardian must be present on this trip for participants under age 18. We will meet at the Public Works located at 1802 Courtland Rd NE, Roanoke, VA 24012.
Bring plenty of water (2 liters), snacks, lunch, proper clothing and footwear (good shoes or hiking boots), a backpack to carry all of your items and trekking poles if you use them. Just a reminder that dogs are not allowed on any City of Roanoke hike.
