Gardening 101

Explore the basics of growing vegetables to ensure your garden’s success. Participants will learn how to analyze the sunlight, water and soil on a site to determine good places to start a garden. Cheap and inexpensive techniques for making beds will also be demonstrated. Participants will learn how to start transplants and seed directly into the ground. Tips and tricks will also include common pest and disease problems, as well as fertility and weed control. Instructed by Virginia Cooperative Extension.
