(18+, 10+ with participating adult) Falls Ridge Preserve is part of a steep, rugged ridge that rises from the valley of the North Fork of the Roanoke River and boasts a spring-fed travertine 80-foot waterfall. The Salem Fault runs through the Nature Conservancy preserve, dividing it into two different rock types and the corresponding difference in soil types generates a diversity of vegetation. 4.5 miles. Program fee includes transportation and leadership.

Parent or guardian must be present on this trip for participants under age 18. We will meet at the Public Works located at 1802 Courtland Rd NE, Roanoke, VA 24012.
Bring plenty of water (2 liters), snacks, lunch, proper clothing and footwear (good shoes or hiking boots), a backpack to carry all of your items and trekking poles if you use them. Just a reminder that dogs are not allowed on any City of Roanoke hike.
