SUMMARY:Happy Valley Grit Gravel Race
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a gravel tour of Carvins Cove!  \nNever raced gravel before? This is your event! We aim to make this race as friendly and fun as possible! Seasoned racer? This is your event too! Don’t let the distance fool you\, the climb on the 30 will get your legs burning! \nWe’ll have stocked aid stations\, after race food and if you register before the merch deadline (Nov 22nd)\, sweet custom race swag! \n15 miler: This route starts at the boat dock and follows Happy Valley Fire Road to Carvins Cove Road and back. There will be an aid station at the turn around. This route includes 720 ft of elevation gain. GPX \n30 Miler: This route follows the 15 miler route out but swings a left at the first aid station and climbs up Brushy Mountain Fire Road up past the second aid station at the Buck Trail intersection to turnaround at the Hinchee Trail before doubling back to the start/finish line. This route includes 3\,305 ft of elevation gain. GPX \n**All routes are closed to vehicles but trails will remain open to cyclists and hikers/runners. \nHuge thanks to Just the Right Gear Bike Shop for managing the first aid station and Trek Bicycle Roanoke for managing the second aid station! \n-Packet pickup will be at the picnic pavilion at the boat dock located at 9644 Reservoir Rd\, Roanoke Va 24019. Starting at 8am on Race day (Sunday\, December 6th). \n-Pre-Race Mtg at 9:45am\n-Race Start at 10am\n-Gravel and Mountain bikes appropriate\, we recommend at least a 38mm tire \n-Please be mindful of 2-way traffic along the route but especially on Brushy Mountain Fire Road. \nhttps://www.facebook.com/events/2466243277199651/
