Brushy mountain and Carvins Cove

This mix of gravel and pavement ride provides the perfect opportunity to tour a large section of Carvins Cove Natural Reserve, as well as some of the surrounding countryside. Starting at the Hinchee Trail/Hanging Rock Battlefield Trail parking area, climb up the 2.1 mile Hinchee Trail through Hinchee Park before continuing onto the Brushy Mountain Fire Road. After cruising the rolling terrain (read: there will be a few more climbs!) of Brushy Mountain, enjoying the views along the way, finish up the gravel portion of the ride on a downhill to the intersection with Happy Valley road, that connects with the rest of the Cove. Cruise 6.5 miles back to the Hinchee Trail parking area on pavement to finish up the ride.

  • Rating: Difficult

     Mix of gravel/forest road and paved two-lane roads with light to moderate traffic.
