Volunteer Trail Work Days at Carvins Cove

Trail Work Days, Sponsored by City of Roanoke Parks and Recreation:

(18+, 14+ with an adult) Join fellow trail enthusiasts—hikers, bikers, and equestrians—to maintain and build new trail out at Carvin’s Cove. These workdays will be administered by the City of Roanoke Parks and Recreation and will work on projects to better the trails that we currently use as well as to add to the network of trails already out there. City of Roanoke Parks and Recreation will provide the tools, just show up with sturdy shoes, water, work gloves, and some excitement to create and maintain the trails in our valley.

Pathfinders for Greenways Carvins Cove Trail Care Crew:

Take some time to give back to the trail systems that you use on City Parks this New Year. Pathfinders for Greenways will be offering trail work out at Carvins Cove on the dates below starting at 9:00am. Meet at the Bennett Springs Parking Lot with eye protection, sturdy shoes, and gloves. Roanoke IMBA will be providing snacks and drinks for the volunteers. Let Pathfinders know if you are able to make the work day by e-mailing volunteers@greenways.org or call Brian Batteiger at 540-467-1629. If they do not hear from at least 2 people by the night before, they will cancel the work day. Work will take place on the new Rock N Roll trail that will link Arrowhead to Schoolhouse.

Blue Ridge Gravity–Old Gauntlet Trail:

Blue Ridge Gravity (BRG) is a group of freeride mountain bikers who are currently working on turning the fire cut on the old section of Gauntlet into a flow/freeride trail. This expert and mountain bike only trail is under construction.
