Disrupting Natural Selection: Basic Trail First Aid
(All Ages) Ever been out hiking or mountain biking and have an injury? Cuts, twisted ankles, and bee stings can happen. Don’t be a part of the problem, be part of the solution and gain some basic skills on how to treat common trail medical issues. From what to carry in a first aid kit and how to improvise on the trail, this course taught by the Appalachian Center for Wilderness Medicine will get you a leg up on how to stay safe and enjoy the trails.

National Public Lands Day
(Ages 18+, 14+ with an adult) National Public Lands Day is a great way to give back to the trails and lands that you utilize for recreation throughout the year. Join fellow trail enthusiasts at Carvins Cove to give much needed love to the Jacob’s Drop and Kerncliff trails. Lunch, trail tools, and instruction are provided by City of Roanoke and trail crew leaders of local volunteer organizations.
