Instructional Kayak Roll Session, February 8th, 2015 and March 15th, 2015
Tired of bailing your boat every time you flip? Our certified kayaking instructors are ready to help you take your skills to the next level. They will spend most of their time in the water next to you as they guide you through each step of the roll. Our low student-to-instructor ratio gives you plenty of personal attention during each lesson. Classes are held in a controlled indoor pool. All technical equipment can be provided or you can bring your own. You must be able to swim.

Open Kayak Roll Sessions, February 15th, 2015 and March 1st, 2015
Already own your own boating gear and looking for some cheap pool time to nail that roll? Join us at the Gator Aquatic Center this Sunday evening for an open kayak roll session. Professional staff will be on-hand to assist you and ensure water safety but no formal instruction or equipment will be provided. You must be able to swim.

SUP Yoga Classes, Dates below
(18+,10+ with adult) Hang 10 with your asana! Are you looking to take your love for SUP or yoga to the next level? Why not combine the two! You will experience the ultimate combination of balance and focus in a new setting while still practicing classic yoga poses and techniques. Our experienced instructor from Uttara Yoga Studio will help you learn the proper stance for balance and control on a stand-up paddleboard while exercising traditional yoga form and alignment. All equipment and leadership is provided. Prior Yoga or paddling experience is not necessary, but extremely beneficial. It is also strongly recommended you are able to swim.

Chesapeake Bay-Sea Kayaking, May 22nd-25th, 2015
Historic Mathews County, VA holds one of the most productive estuaries on the bay. Beginners and experienced paddlers will explore the many treasures these western shore creeks and waterways hold. Prior to the trip, we will learn basic paddling techniques here, and you can take these skills out on the Mathews Blueway Water Trail and the bay itself. We will also visit the bay’s third oldest lighthouse, New Point Comfort, and enjoy wonderful Chesapeake Bay cuisine. All lodging, two meals per day (excluding dinners), equipment, transportation and leadership are provided.

Stand Up Paddleboarding Day Trips
Spend the day learning everything you need to know to get started in the exciting sport of Stand Up Paddleboarding. “SUP”. Our American Canoe Associated (ACA) certified instructor will help you learn one on one, the proper stance for balance and control, essential paddle strokes and other techniques. Courses will be held on calm water, and no experience is necessary. Come with us to learn one of the fastest growing paddle sports in the world. All equipment, leadership and transportation are provided. Participants must be able to swim.

After Work Paddle at Carvins CovePaddling
Paddle off into the sunset with Parks and Rec, after work at Carvins Cove. We will take weekly trips to the cove to canoe and sea kayak. After a long day at work relax and enjoy some paddling time with friends. All instruction and equipment is provided.

Introduction to Whitewater Kayaking, June 13, 2015
Paddling(18+, 14+ with an adult) Spend a day on the river learning fundamental whitewater kayaking skills and river safety. Our American Canoe Association (ACA) instructors will discuss paddling strokes, “reading a river,” equipment selection, and basic river rescue. This exciting beginner clinic prepares you to paddle on your own and will familiarize you with nearby river access points, outfitters, and more!
All equipment, leadership, and transportation
are provided. Participants must be able to swim.

Introduction to Kayak Surfing, June 19, 2015
(18+, 14+ with an adult) Whitewater kayaks can be surfed on a standing wave in a river as well as stood up on an eddy line. Come find out how to make the most of your playboat or kayak in this intro clinic! Participants must be able to swim, roll a kayak in moving water, and feel comfortable paddling class 2 whitewater.
